COMING SOON: How to create custom QR Code domains
Custom QR Code domains increase brand recognition, credibility and engagement. Find out how they work and how to create them for your brand.
How can your business stand out among millions of brands on the internet and leave a lasting impression? The short answer is personalization.
When someone scans your QR code, the URL they see can either strengthen or break their trust in your business. Customers who interact with you may be reluctant to click or open links that don't include your brand name - and even though we know that it's perfectly safe to use, you won't have much time in between a browsing redirect to explain why you're sending them to an address that doesn't feature your brand name. That's why we're introducing QR Code custom domains for pro and enterprise members.
This feature helps you connect your own domain to your QR Codes, so every scan reflects your brand and not that of a third-party provider. Think short (professionally) branded links rather than generic ones.
Your brand needs custom QR Code domains
For those who've just launched a brand and are wearing many hats, a custom domain update may not be on the priority list, but it should be. Branded QR Code links effectively remind users that attention to detail and consistency are integral to your ethos.
Over 370 million domains are registered worldwide, with 140 million in the United States, making the digital world a highly competitive marketplace. And when you're fighting for recognition in a saturated market, relying on a random domain link to promote your business is a big missed opportunity. It doesn't scream: I-take-my-business-seriously.
With custom domain links from QR-Codes.com, you can:
Manage multiple campaigns at once
Own every part of your customer's journey with you
Give users with an extra element of security by seeing your custom domain as a trusted link
See when, where and how users are engaging with your QR Codes
Build brand recognition
The easier your domain name is to remember, the better. Users who spot a QR Code with custom domains are likely to trust the legitimacy of your brand and feel safe opening the URL.
Boost scans
According to Poll the People, branded links can increase click-through rates (CTR) by up to 34% compared to generic short links. Personalised domains not only look better, but they also perform better.
Improve SEO
Although search engines prioritize content and backlinks more than domain names, a personalized domain still contributes to how discoverable and trustworthy you look at first glance. A custom domain can help your business rank higher on search engines because they are unique. This marketing strategy is ideal for global brands and startups interested in creating a lasting, positive impression.
Set up custom links from your dashboard:
No extensive technical experience required. As long as you have access to your website and host information, you can create custom domains.
Go to your profile in the top right corner of your dashboard and click on custom domains.

Enter your website URL without 'https://' or 'http://'.

Then log in to your domain host platform and enter the DNS details you see on your QR Code dashboard. Your host's platform may look a bit different to the one below.

Your change can take up to 48 hours to reflect, so ensure that you've factored a potential waiting period into your marketing deadline.

Once your new DNS entry appears, you can validate it on your QR-Codes.com dashboard to ensure that it's working correctly before sharing it with the world.

Virgin Active
No need to carry a gym membership card; Virgin Active allows members to sign in using a QR Code and has gone a step further than custom domains by providing QR Codes with a unique ID. Not only is the QR Code accessible from the member's smartphone app to enter the gym, but it is also linked to the member's unique ID, which tracks their visits and triggers rewards based on attendance.
Adidas
It's hard for some of us to stay active without music. It's as if having a great playlist gives us an energy boost while running. Knowing this, Adidas released the Pulseboost HD sneakers with a QR Code on the tongue, so you can instantly access a custom playlist based on your location. Now you can focus on your run instead of searching for songs.
